Tips on choosing wedding invitation software

You’ll want your card to be wonderful – that’s understandable.  So making it yourself gives you total freedom to create a personalized wedding card that suits you perfectly.

There are a number of wedding invitation software programs on the market. They’ll all do a good job in helping you to create your wedding invitation cards but do be aware of what you’re letting yourself in for. It may, or may not be the best option for you and special day.

These are just some of the points to consider when checking out any wedding invitation software purchase:

1. Do you have the time to get to know your software?2. Have you got a PC system set up that can handle the software.  Check the guide on the required operating system.  Not all are both Mac and PC friendly.
3. Is your printer robust enough to handle the amount of cards you want to print.  Some printers take an age and use up masses of ink – which may make your cards more expensive, in the long run.
4. What kind of paper do you want to use?  Tracking own suppliers early on will give you the time to practice and to allow for trial runs. You may want to use blank cards, A4 paper which you cut to size or pre-formed card fronts.
5. Do you have an idea what kind of layout to use of will you make it from scratch, following your own ideas? Look at some wedding invitation samples to get an idea of working and text placement.  There are accepted wedding etiquette layouts that combine all the relevant information in traditional formats.
6. Do you understand the print set-up options for your software?  It can be complicated to set up initially but most reputable software programs should give you clear, step-by-step instructions.

Once you’re clear on the alternative it’ll be easier for you to make the right choice.

Don’t be mislaid by claims that printing your own wedding invitations is easy .  That's certainly not the case if you find computers challenging. It will take some time to plan and practice, but the finished cards should be well worth the effort, and most software programs can be used to create invitation cards for a wide range of future occasions.

The results can be spectacular and you’ll have to freedom to play with color, text and photos which will give you unlimited possibilities.

If you want an hand-on approach to your special day then wedding  invitation software can certainly be an exciting option that’s worth the time and money investment.
