Are you finding the right words to personalize your card?
Many of us search high and low finding the perfect and right words to personalize a card. We stand – or sit there, trawling through dozens of options and sometimes none of them seem right. If this sounds like you why not get personal and write your own message to add to your card?
It’s not always the pre-printed card that does the trick at those special times. Card writers are responding to the masses and usually generate a run of around 40,000 cards at time. These cover the most popular themes, and sport the familiar verses and messages. Unless you’re prepared to ‘make do’ with what comes off the shelf – or the screen, then there are times when you might have to go with it and give up the hunt for the perfect message.
This is especially true in the every popular area of ‘Thinking of You’ cards. It’s such a generic term that it can be applied to anything from puppy birthing to exams, swimming competitions to sales. Such special moments deserve an added message and it says so much more to the recipient.
It’s no big deal to add a few extra hand-written words to the printed greeting. It shows that you’ve really been thinking of their particular event and have selected a card that has meaning and relevance to what they are experiencing.
Handwriting itself brings its own emotional responses.
Don’t worry about the standard of your writing. Think of all the parents who have joyfully received and kept early scribblings from their offspring. Were they worried about the formation of the letters? No! They were overjoyed to be given a heartfelt, sincere greeting. Bringing it out time after time will only add to that original memory.
If the words inside are too vague, then add some in the appropriate spot, or underneath the greeting. Write some personal thoughts, or well wishes that will show your sincerity and consideration. You never know how long your card may be kept, and what impact it, and your words may have on the one you give it to.
I still have personal cards from dear friends and family given to me at special times. I come back to them time after time to remind myself of the emotions they created and the joy they gave me then – and still give me. It’s not so much the card itself but the whole feeling of love and care that these cards represent.
A Thinking of you Card – or even a blank card, gives you the perfect opportunity to demonstrate your own love, affection or thoughts.
So get writing. Add a few words with flourish. Make it personal, and you’ll never again be lost for those perfect words with which to personalize your card.
