Spice up your birthday greetings

A birthday greeting is one of the most important you're likely to write. After all, as the most popular card to give in the calendar,  they are bound to figure in  the average card send of  6 a year.  Like it or not, we all have birthdays,some you want to celebrate. If you're sending a special milestone birthday card such as a 21st, 40th, 80th etc then writing something inside is usually not a problem. 

It's easy to add a such as:

wishing you much love for the future on your special day

with love from us both on this milestone birthday

You could add the date of their birth somewhere in the card, or a news headline from this day in history.

Take a look at some of the birthday sites around and trawl through their happy birthday messages to see what's on offer.  Most of the birthday message might be rather basic, but then add your own special sparkle above, or below the greeting.

Include a photo of them or you and them together.  Comment on how much they mean to you and how pleased you are to celebrate a birthday with them.  It will carry so much more affection than just a standard  happy birthday signature.

Remember that many birthday cards are kept and brought out time after time, so if it’s an important birthday, you’ll want to make an extra effort to make your message match the moment.

If you can develop a habit of writing from the heart, rather than a 'that will do' phrase, then your cards will become anticipated and loved.

And on your birthday what could be nicer than really feeling that you are loved, through the writing and reading of a carefully crafted birthday card message.
