Hallmark agrees Sony deal on musical greeting cards

has had great success in USA with their range of entitled “Open up with Music”. These cards are proving more popular in the UK so Hallmark is hoping their recent business coup will catapult their sales Stateside.

The range covers all the major occasions and they have even more reason to celebrate following a successful license agreement with the Music Corporation Sony.

The agreement gives them legal rights to include original artists’ recordings in their cards.  This will give buyers a choice of classic music tracks to help them celebrate milestone events.

Imagine being able to listen to 'What a Wonderful World' sung by Louis Armstrong to celebrate the arrival of a new baby.  Or what about choosing ‘Simply the Best’ performed by Tina Turner – it’s a great song for a birthday!

Two other worthy titles in their range include ‘Celebrate’ by Kool and The Gang (great for any Celebration event) and the  party classic ‘YMCA’ by The Village People – hand gestures are obligatory!.

Hallmark’s “Open up with Music” range currently has 26 classic titles to help you get into the party mood.

You’ll be able to hear the original artist crooning it – or whooping it up, right inside your card.  Sony's deal with Hallmark will bring musical greeting cards to a wider audience.
