Anniversary Cards: how do you give yours?
Choosing an Anniversary Card for your partner or spouse is a wonderful way to mark the important milestone that you have reached together.
All anniversaries - and their cards are important, but a wedding anniversary card is extra special. It is a time to celebrate and demonstrate your feelings for one another – and to others.
It can be all to easy now to choose, complete and send an email greeting card. But this is one occasion between the anniversary couple, when an old-fashioned paper milled card just can’t be equalled.
Presenting your loved one with a carefully, personally selected card should be one of the pleasures of the occasions.
Giving your anniversary card should be as important as selection and writing it, so give some thought to how you actually offer your card. Remember all that signifies and give the card giving process some special thought before hand.
If you have thought about how to sign your card then you’ll want to place it in your love one’s hands with attention.
What can you go to make the moment more special and meaningful? Will you choose a special moment in the day or evening? Will you actually give it yourself, or had you just intended to leave it where they will find it?
Think about the significance to you – and to them of what this card represents. It maybe more important to your spouse or partner than yourself. If that’s the case, then ‘step out of the box’ for a moment and imagine how they would best like to receive it.
What kind of occasion could you arrange to make it even more special? What words will you say as you hand it over? Re-iterating the words you may have written inside the card will make it even more special. See if you can make a special moment in your day to give your card even more meaning.
Display you own card somewhere where you can see it in the days to come. That not only shows that you give the card some importance, but it enables you both to show others how you have both offered and received this small token of affection. Give - and receive your anniversary card with love and thoughtfulness to make it even more important.
