Confidently writing a message can be one of the  most difficult parts of the card giving process.

We think we’ve done the hard bit in finally choosing the right type of card for the occasion.  We put all our energies into deciding on the most appropriate style and form of card and then after all that effort we’re faced with another decision!

There’s been a bit of a rumpus in the UK this week as Jack Straw, The Secretary of State for Justice has criticized firms for banishing the words "Happy Christmas" in case they upset ethnic minorities. 

The whole point of his irritation is a feeling that Greeting Card Companies are ‘airbrushing’ out Christmas, which as Mr Straw points out, celebrates the birth of Christ.  His argument is against the platitudes of ‘seasons greetings’ and happy holidays’ – greetings which he sees as dismissing the very point of Christ-mas after all.

What’s hot in origami tea bag folding cardcraft books

The art of is alive and well and enjoying great popularity on handmade greeting card. The origins of tea bag folding are fairly recent, but based on traditional paper folding techniques. It’s easy to get addicted and aficionados will be delighted that there are a number of excellent books to feed their interests.

Could you get a card from The White House this year?

If receiving a fills you with anticipation, then you may be in luck. The White House sends out free greetings from the President’s Office for special occasions so if you’ve got a special event coming up then it’s worth checking out. There are – of course certain restrictions, with many requests for a greeting turned down. But if you don’t try you won’t know so do take a look at their website for more information.
